WHAT FUN WE HAD
When we think of Vacation time, there’s a lot of times we just don’t know where we want to go. We ask our families, friends and co-workers but still not sure.
There are so many choices out there and directions to go in, it is overwhelming deciding on just 1 location and what to do there.
I hope this article helps narrow down the search for a great vacation with love, fun, entertainment, coming together as a family with wonderful things to do.
Here are a few of our Favorite places we want to share with everyone:)
Gatlinburg Tennessee, Beautiful Scenery
The Beautiful Great Smoky Mountains National Park located in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg has three entrances, the park is the most popular attraction in the eastern Tennessee town.
The park has miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, as well as historical exhibits and cabins, and the opportunity to view black bears, elk, deer and other wildlife in there natural habitat, it’s easy to see why the park has so many visitors.
When your not enjoying the National Park, you’ll be spending time admiring checking out the many attractions that Gatlinburg has, including the Gatlinburg Space Needle and the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway
One of my kids favorites is the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, you can also watch local artists and craftsmen create everything from paintings and pottery to handmade brooms and jewelry.
The best time to visit Gatlinburg is between September and October. The two peak seasons in Gatlinburg are summer (June, July and August) and the month of October, when the fall foliage is at its peak.
July is the busiest month of the summer season, while weekends in October draw the largest crowds in the fall.
Summer is hot with temperatures in the 80s, but normally less humid than surrounding areas due to the city’s high elevation.
Keep in mind: that elevation is also responsible for rapid changes in the weather pattern, meaning you should pack layers no matter when you visit.
The fall foliage begins to appear in mid-September at the higher elevations. That, coupled with moderate temperatures, offseason rates and few crowds, make September a great month to visit.
Crisp fall days in October when the foliage reaches its flaming peak draw huge crowds, and visitors can expect traffic delays, especially on holiday weekends.
Early spring (March to May) constitutes Gatlinburg’s low season. If you time your visit for April or May, you’ll likely catch the explosion of spring wildflowers.
It is a Beautiful place to go, my family and I have been here a lot over the years and it is one of our favorites.:) There are a lot of free things you can do here, but they do require a car and loving nature.
Helen Georgia, Great Tubing/Rafting
Helen, Georgia has a population of only 430 residents and is the state’s third most visited city.
I thought that was so cool when we went there, it is such a charming town it’s only 2.1 square miles and has so much charm.
Helen started as a home to the Cherokee, and then to European settlers who came for the gold and the timber.
My family and I explored the shops, they have over 200 specialty shops, we didn’t make it to all of them lol. It’s a charming German town with yummy food.
There is also a scenic state park that is Beautiful, and waterfalls scattered about, the gorgeous mountain town of Helen Georgia is a unique place to explore.
Our kids and Us enjoyed enter tubing over and over. Helen has a lot of fun things to do.
During the warmer months, typically May to September, you can spend the day floating down the river with outfitters like Helen Tubing & Waterpark and Cool River Tubing, which drop you off and pick you up.
They also offer changing rooms, showers, picnic areas and parking.
Anna Ruby Falls
Although there are many waterfalls nearby, Anna Ruby Falls is perhaps the most visitor-friendly, accessed by a paved trail. It’s named for Anna Ruby Nichols and is actually made up of two waterfalls.
Mind Escapes is a themed escape room with masterful games for all ages. One room features Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, while another is about a mysterious cabin in the woods.
We had a great time here, from flipping in the tubes and laughing so hard, to exploring all over the place lol and enjoying every moment of it together! I Can’t wait to go back again great memories were made:)
Daytona Beach, Florida
I Loved this place, it is at the top of my list of all time favorite vacations. We had a Wonderful time. The beautiful beaches and blue ocean, bright skies even when it rained it was beautiful to me.
We especially enjoyed getting to drive our car on the beach and ride around on the sand. It was so much fun. Daytona Beach is a city on Florida’s Atlantic coast.
It’s known for Daytona International Speedway, which hosts February’s iconic Daytona 500 NASCAR race. The beach has hard-packed sand where driving is permitted in designated areas.
Near the boardwalk are rides and arcades, Daytona Beach Bandshell stages free summer concerts. Steps from the beach the Daytona Lagoon water park offers go-karts, laser tag and waterslides.
The Beach is the greatest attraction to me though, you can listen to the ocean and play in the sand or walk for miles and feel such peace. It’s one of my favorite times of the year when I get to go and relax, listen and pray.
I hope that one of these Beautiful Cities You will see one day or if you’ve already been blessed by going there, you will go and experience more again.
They have so much to offer and not just in spending money but in there beauty and nature.
One thing I have learned is you never can see everything on one trip. When you leave for your trip, there is so much out there to explore.
We even forget that in our own home towns, we don’t know what’s around us to explore.
I challenge you to look around and see what you can find right where you are? And Your next Vacation do 1 thing that’s not going to be the norm for you.:)
Blessings, Enjoy Life,
